We had booked (and paid for) the bush camping at this place for Easter but unfortunately our booking was cancelled (by Murchison House Station) due to flooding which we were totally understanding of. I've since read that this seems to happen every year around Easter. Wish I had known that before. This station DOES NOT give you a full refund even if THEY are the ones to cancel. They keep $30 as an admin fee".Just something for other travellers to be mindful of. I just don't think the morals behind that "booking policy" are right. And that's why I won't stay here on our future trips to the area.We were lucky to get a last minute booking at a caravan park in Kalbarri which was closer to town so all worked out in the end

Nice place to stop near Kalbarri. Great price point ($20/night) for those passing through, hot showers and flushing toilets, lovely gum trees by the river, what more could you want!I stayed on the homestead side and was neither impressed nor unimpressed by the campsite. Quite tightly packed (not much privacy or space, a few caravans had trouble getting parked up), but lovely spot right on the banks of the river. Very busy when I arrived, I would recommend calling and booking in advance.I wouldn't rush back for a holiday by the homestead, but I would stop here again if I were passing through, and plan to cross over to explore the station by 4WD.Drinking water available at taps, camp kitchen and fire pits.

Checked out of our campsite on a Sunday after one night camping for a dining event on the station; ensured we left the site in a clean condition.Had a rude email from the owners on the following Wednesday accusing us of leaving dirty toilet paper at the site and threatening to advise the people who had run the dining event. Despite being pointed out to them that rubbish could have blown in from another site, and reiterating we hadn’t even used toilet paper at our site, the owner Belinda called me and continued to rant aggressively about having to pick up toilet paper. It became clear she was mistaken when she asked if we were ‘part of the Nova crew’ (we were not).Certainly won’t be returning, even if an apology is forthcoming, and have since read the other Google reviews which confirm owners are rude and aggressive. Shame, as we’d had a lovely night camping.

If you like 4 wheel driving, then this is the place to come. There are various grades of tracks throughout the 350,000 acres and range from easy sand tracks to more challenging rock climbs. Be aware that you can have tyre damage even if going slow over the rocky terrain, but that is all part and parcel of what you do. The scenery from castle rock and other sections of the property is nothing short of spectacular. There are so many beautiful camping areas and you can be entirely alone with the goats, kangaroos, birds of every kind, some cattle in areas, emus etc.

Amazing place, so peaceful and relaxing. We camped right on the edge of the river just upstream from the homestead in an area called Horse Flats West. Beautiful area that was fairly flat with grass and plenty of ghost gums for shade. The track in was rocky and there was a steep downhill entrance to get onto the flats. Getting out could have been tricky but we found the Frypan Track was a much easier way of exiting this area. Information on these areas and more are provided when you book.Staff at the Homestead we really informative and helpful when we arrived. We will definitely be heading back to explore more of the station.

We camped for one Saturday night on the station for a dining event. Prior to checking out, we took care to ensure that everything was clean and no rubbish was left on site, even going so far as to collect items from a neighbouring campsite and a newspaper that had blown into the embarkment of our site. The following Wednesday, we received a rude email from the owners, accusing us of leaving dirty toilet paper on the site and threatening to notify the organisers of the dining event. When we pointed out that the toilet paper could have blown from another site, and assured the owners that it was not the fault of any person in our group (as we hadn't used toilet paper on our site), this was met with an aggressive phone call by Belinda who ranted further about the inconvenience to staff. It was clear from this phone call she was confused about which group we were, but did not apologise. The aggression, accusations and veiled threats were shocking and offensive. We can say with certainty that we won't be returning to this site, which is disappointing because our experience had initially been a positive one.

Great experience! We were camped right up the end of the homestead camping and we were lucky to be in one of the bigger spots so had a bit more privacy, but all the spaces are really nicely spaced out so you don't feel on top of other peopleRight down the end of the homestead is a long way back to the toilets, so would probably recommend your own loo.The toilets and showers provided are great! Showers stay hot with great pressure, everything is clean and tidy. Not very often we feel comfortable leaving our toolboxes unlocked, but here was no issue

We camped off grid, it was amazing. We put our kayak in the river and the bird life we saw was incredible. Exploring the station from the map provided was really interesting, so varied in the vast landscape. Emus with chicks, Roos, cattle and goats with their kids. Highly rate and recommend staying here

Just finished a stay here- camping at the homestead campground right on the river front (site 8- these are definitely the best sites) . It was so beautiful! We were so impressed with the staff, facilities and location. We’ll be recommending to family and friends and already can’t wait to return!
